Niger Delta Avengers (NDA), a militant group, has bombed three crude oil truck lines operated by three multinational companies in Niger Delta area of Nigeria, shutting down 300,000 barrel daily production.
The attack was carried out on Tuesday night by what Avengers refer to as “ Elite Strike Team 03’’.
The facilities, Nembe 1, 2, and 3 truck are operated by Agip, Oando and Shell with supply capacity of 300,000 barrel per day to Bonny export terminal in Bayelsa State.
According to the self-styled “Brigadier General’’ and spokesman of the Avengers,  Mudoch Agbinibo, the operation was in response to ” Operations Sharkbite” carried out by the Nigerian Army.
Agbinibo said the Naval component of the military was carrying out an art of terrorism commissioned.
He said that the “ activities of Navy establishment are orchestrated by some elements of the ruling political class to continuously undermine any effort by the Nigerian state to addressing the legitimate demands of the people of the Niger Delta.
“We are only reiterating our strong resolve that, time is running against the Nigerian government, that there is doom ahead.
“The Nigerian government needs our cooperation more than we need the government as it concerns the extraction of the crude oil and hydrocarbon resources in our God-given land.’’
He said the Avengers were determined to continue the war by all means necessary, until that environment embarked on genuine dialogue and negotiations.
The Avengers had put up sixteen key demands presented to President Muhammadu Buhari by elders from Niger Delta on 1st of November 2016.
“We want the peace with honour, we don’t want the Peace of Our Time.
“ Since that moment military was drafted into the Niger Delta as an instrument of suppression to our fatherland against all peaceful protest and legitimate demands the fear had gone.
“The message is getting stronger with more messengers,’’ he said in a website posting.
The attack came than 24 hours after the visit of the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok Ibas to Bayelsa State.
The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) confirmed the attacks on oil trunk lines.
