Robbery attack claims life of retired Police inspector, wife

Suspected robbers have killed a retired inspector of Police Mr Joseph Tsafa and his wife Cecilia while they were on their way back to Taraba State after attending the NKST Church World-wide Choir conference held at Jaki, Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State, Middle-belt, Nigeria on Friday.

A family source says that the victim who was travelling back to his home from the venue of the conference was waylaid by gun men when he slowed down at a bad portion of the road where the gunmen had laid ambush and stopped him. He was immediately short right on the steering and his wife sitting beside him at the front passenger seat was also caught by same bullet killing both instantly.

However the 3 passengers at the back of the vehicle were unhurt. The robbers went ahead to search the vehicle before leaving the scene. An eyewitness said incident occurred a little after 9 am Nigerian time.

Though Mr Tsafa is not a pastor as reported by some local media but was an official of the Church Choir.

The area where the incident occurred is volatile and the gunmen operate with impunity.
The family source said they will be buried on December 16, in Ukum Local government Area of Benue State.
