One of Justice Ajumogobia's houses |
Agents of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) visited Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia’s house in Lagos on Wednesday, Channels TV reports.
The operatives arrived at Ms. Ofili-Ajumogobia’s Ikoyi, Lagos home at 7 a.m. and attempted to search her property, but were denied access.
The embattled justice is being tried alongside Godwin Obla, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, on allegations of corruption. Specifically, Ms. Ofili-Ajumogobia is facing a 26-count charge of unlawful enrichment, forgery, and providing false information an EFCC official. Mr. Obla is being charged with bribing Ms. Ofili-Ajumogobia with N5m while she was presiding over one of Mr. Obla’s cases.
Both pleaded not guilty to the charges and have been granted bail.
