Ghana Election: Mahama, Nduom Concedes Defeat, As Nana Akufo-Addo is leading with more than 52%

Reports from Ghana says Dr Edward Mahama, the presidential candidate of People's National Convention in the 2016 Presidential elections has conceded defeat even as the Ghana’s electoral commission is yet to conclude vote count.

Mahama, who took to social media few hours ago said: “I will like to congratulate Nana Akufo-Addo of the NPP for winning the 2016 general elections based on my projections.


In the vote counted so far Nana Akufo Addo is leading with 52% of the total vote.

“I call on my other contenders to do same especially the sitting President to concede gracefully This is a victory for all Ghana”

Earlier, Progressive People’s Party (PPP) presidential candidate, Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom congratulated Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the main opposition leader ahead of official declaration by the Electoral Commission.


He wrote a while ago on his official Facebook page,
I wish to congratulate Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of the NPP for winning the 2016 presidential election based on results available to me. The wind of change has blown in his favor. The NPP worked hard for this victory. I accept the decision of the people on behalf of the PPP. We must all now work hard to make our country great and strong and the people prosperous.
Early reports says that Nana Akufo-Addo may be on their way to victory as he is currently leading polling 52% of votes already counted.
