The Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State Mr. Moses Epko has reportedly resigned, according to a tweet by @APCNewspaper and ibom.com.ng
The resignation has not been confirmed officially by the PDP controlled Akwa Ibom State Government, but the APC organ said the 77 year old deputy governor is heading to the All Progressives Congress (APC) with his political godfather, Senator Godswill Akpabio. However, Mr. Ekpo has since denied the report and said he is still Deputy Governor and a member of the PDP.
Similarly, the Deputy Governor of Kano State, Hafiz Abubakar, has resigned from office. In a letter of resignation submitted to the state Governor Abdullahi Ganduje on Saturday, Hafiz Abubakar cited  “irreconcilable differences on matters relating to governance and government operations, personal opinion and respect for democratic ideals and values.” as his reasons for resignation.
Mr. Abubakar, a close political associate of former governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso, is expected to join Mr Kwankwaso who has already defected in PDP.
